Allwinner Technology Co. Ltd., based in Zhuhai, produces inexpensive processors with one (A10, A13), two (A20) and four (A31) cores. A program is usually offered to reflash Allwinner processors. LiveSuit, but there is a more convenient program PhoenixSuit.
The process of flashing Allwinner processor tablet on Android
As an example, I will describe the entire process using the Ross&Moor RMD-974R model.
To reflash tablets on the Allwinner processor, we need a file in the .img (IMAGEWTY) format, which can usually be found on the manufacturer's website or on special forums.
Also the program PhoenixSuit and a computer running Windows 7 or X
- Download and install the PhoenixSuit program.
For correct installation, press the buttons in accordance with the pictures below.
During the installation process, the program will offer to install drivers for the computer. So, feel free to agree *(If the drivers are not installed, see the note at the end of the article)
And we complete the installation by pressing (C)
After installation, a new shortcut will appear on your desktop.
- Launch the program and in the window that opens, click Firmware
- Click IMAGE and specify the location of our firmware
- Now turn off the tablet, hold down the volume button V+ and connect to the computer. Now press the power button 4-6 times until a window pops up asking you to format the built-in memory
We choose
- Yes- if you want to completely delete all data and reflash
- No — if you just want to do an update without deleting data
Now we are watching the flashing process. On average, it takes up to 10 minutes
If the firmware process does not start, then install the drivers
A pop-up window will notify you that the process has completed successfully.
Your tablet now has the latest firmware version installed.
Installing Allwinner Drivers on Windows
- Turn off your tablet.
- Press and hold the Vol+ button.
- Connect your tablet to your computer.
- And press the on/off button 3 times.
- Right-click on the "My Computer" icon and select "Device Manager" or "Control - Device Manager".
- Now in the list that opens, find the “unknown device” or the device with a yellow question mark.
- Right click on it and select "update driver" in the opened window select manual installation or search on this computer, then select installation from the specified location.
- Click "browse" and select the USB driver folder.
- Click select then next.
- Wait while the system installs the drivers.
An error occurs when installing Allwinner drivers
If you have Windows 8 or 10 and you get an error when installing drivers: "Windows found drivers for this device, but an error occurred while trying to install the drivers" You need to disable driver signature verification:
- Press Win+R, enter shutdown /o /r press Enter Windows should restart into the pre-launch environment,
- select additional boot options, the system will reboot completely, the classic mode of selecting boot options will become available
- select disable driver integrity check signing (in my system you need to press F7) then the system will boot and we will start installing the drivers.

- Move the mouse to the lower right corner —> Options (or Win + I) Hold down SHIFT and click shutdown —> Restart Additional options —> Boot options
- After rebooting, select item 7 - Disable forced driver signing Done!
Install the necessary drivers. After rebooting, Windows will return to normal mode with the drivers already installed.
