Previously, the procedure for rolling back to factory settings on a Chromebook was associated with a whole set of strictly sequential actions. Such as, for example, switching to developer mode, endless reboots, etc. Now, in all versions of Chrome OS, developers have added a simpler function for returning to factory settings.
HOW TO QUICKLY RESET CHROMEBOOK TO FACTORY SETTINGS?
- Turn on the Chromebook and wait for the authorization window
- Press the hotkey combination Ctrl+Alt+R
- In the window that appears, click on the Reset button
- We are observing the rollback process
After a short procedure, the device will automatically reboot and launch a pristine system, just like out of the box. It is important to remember that during the rollback process, all local files will be erased.
This feature is actually quite rarely used, but in case you want to gift or sell your Chromebook, it would be a good idea to reset everything to factory settings.
